Here at PCGamingWiki, we'll be looking at the quality of the PC port, and see whether the game makes the most of the extra heft provided by the PC platform. The announcement for the PC port of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (originally PS3/Xbox 360 in February 2013) came as quite a surprise, given that the last Metal Gear game to come out on PC was Metal Gear Solid 2 back in 2003, and that all of Platinum's previous games like MadWorld and Bayonetta have all been console exclusive.Īll signs point to this being a questionable PC port, including the strict and ongoing region locking, the temporary case of Ireland being completely banned from buying the game, and the announcement that the maximum resolution would be 1920x1080. For an up to date account of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance fixes and improvements, please visit its respective PCGamingWiki article. This report was written by PCGamingWiki contributors DAOWAce and Andytizer. So any and all explanation you can offer would be extremely appreciated.PC Reports are a series of quick first impressions regarding the technical aspects of a PC game. It annoys me that I don't know the cause of these issues even if I know how to work around them. My question is why? Is it laziness on the developers part, lack of quality control, did AMD screw up, is it an inherent flaw in the hardware or some other problem I have not though of. So far what i gather is that this is mainly an issue that effects AMD GPUs. These are both easy to fix, either run windowed and make them fullscreen borderless windowed with the lkes of Borderless Gaming 6.5 or Fullscreenizer, or go to Catalyst Control Center and set the screen to 50hz and overscan back to full screen. Once again windowed 1080 will do 60hz just fine but not full screen.Īpparently Crysis 1 and 2 do this as well but I don't have either so I cannot confirm. All resolutions fine except for full screen 1080, in which case it is forced into 24hz with underscan. It will run 1080 at 60hz fine in a window but not in full screen.Ī similar issue happens with Metal Gear Rising: Revengence. In full screen 1080 it will only run at 50hz and as a result will underscan. I bought Rayman Legends and it will run at 60hz in all resolution windowed and full screen except for 1920x1080 full screen. So this issue has cropped up twice this week during the sames for me and I am sure a few others have the same issue somewhere along the line.
